For more than 40 years we have been providing premium grade architectural woodwork and casework for the commercial construction industry serving the Corporate, Judicial, Healthcare, Gaming and Hospitality marketplaces. Over the last several years we have expanded our products to include Acoustical Wall and Ceiling Treatments, Hospital and Laboratory Casework, Lockers, Stone and Solid Surfacing, and Architectural Metal and Stone and Solid Surfacing. Our network of production partners have allowed us to provide the very highest level of quality at very competitive pricing, permitting  our Clients to depend on our team of construction professionals to coordinate these multiple spec sections effortlessly and seamlessly.

Richard A. Palko: Managing Partner

Since 1975, Richard Palko has dedicated himself to the premium grade architectural woodworking business as Principal in Charge and has successfully overseen the production and installation of hundreds of millions of dollars of woodwork, casework and acoustical products, all dedicated to the commercial construction industry. He continues to be responsible for assembling a highly qualified and focused team of construction professionals to meet the highest expectations of the Owner, Contractor and Architect Design Professionals on each and every project. As a cabinet maker by trade, he fully understands the technical aspects of the trade and is an approved speaker for the Architectural Woodwork Institute holding educational seminars focused on the woodwork trade for the Architectural and Design community. Additional responsibilities include instilling team commitment, coordinating firm resources and services, overseeing company responsiveness and contractual conformity along with general business development activities.

Karl Reid: Director of Engineering

With over 30 years of experience in finding acceptable constructability solutions in the premium grade architectural woodwork business, Karl has proven to be a great asset for our company and our architectural, designer and contractor clients. Since joining Capitol Woodwork Karl has played a central role in expanding our engineering capabilities and resources, refining standard constructability solutions, instituting state of the art engineering software and ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of engineering excellence.

R. Jonathan Palko: General Manager – Acoustics

Jon oversees all aspects of our Acoustical Division including estimating, project coordination and installation.  Jon has been with the company since 2003.  Under his leadership and technical background, the FabriTrak brand of acoustical products continues to experience double digit growth and remains an important product in our portfolio.  For additional information about FabriTrak, please click on www.fabritrak.com.  In addition to his operational responsibilities for acoustics, Jon is an integral part of our estimating team ensuring prompt and thorough estimates and budgets for the southern region.

Mark Miller: Director of Field Operations (Southern Marketplace)

With 38 years of experience in the premium grade architectural woodworking business as a skilled carpenter and installation contractor, Mark brings substantial industry knowledge to all the phases of his assigned projects and has always been a welcomed addition by our diverse list of Contractor Clients. Mark has been affiliated with Richard Palko for more than 15 years and is responsible to coordinate, layout, and oversee all installation activities throughout the Washington DC,, Southern Virginia, and Maryland Marketplaces. As a native of Maryland, he has been associated with some very notable local work and is dedicated to the installation of premium and monumental grade interior woodwork.

Steve Scheiber: Director of Field Operations (Northern Marketplace)

With over 34 years of experience installing and managing architectural woodwork for the commercial construction industry, Steve has worked on and contributed to an unlimited number of successful projects in the Hospitality, Healthcare, Corporate, Higher Education and Casino marketplaces. One of his recent successes was to oversee all woodwork installation activities for the new Comcast Technology tower in Philadelphia.

With a degree in construction management, Steve has proven to be an important contributor to our organization and a strong leader in the Millwork industry. Steve holds the following certifications: PMP “Project Manager Professional”, OSHA 30, AWI / QCP Trained, Hazcom / GHS Certified and 62 Hour SST “Site Supervisor”.

James Yancoskie: Vice President of Business Development

Jim has been associated with our organization for more than 25 years and continues to be an important revenue contributor for the company. Jim oversees all business development activities from Northern Maryland to New York. His approach on every project is to fully understand the contract documents and scope of work to ensure that his contractor clients can depend on his level of project understanding. In addition to his business development responsibilities, Jim is an integral part of the estimating team ensuring that our bid and budget submissions are thorough and delivered on time.
